Ideal Candidates for Permanent Makeup
Add the missing piece-
Eyebrows are the most understated but most important details that compliment the face. No matter the type of eyebrows—arched, straight, curved, dramatic, classy, sophisticated, thin, thick— wake up each day with your best brow.
With the advancements made in the field of permanent make-up, we can say “so long” to the way-too-dark and solid eyebrows of the past and we can have beautiful, natural looking eyebrows that look like they were grown that way. It allows us to have eyebrows that you’ve always imagined having.
It is important to know what kind of skin you have. All clients have different thicknesses of skin that range wrong oily to dry. Is your skin sensitive? Sun damaged? Aged?
As an artist, I want to make sure that we use the technique and pigment most suited for your skin type and color in order to achieve the best results. It is important that pre-care and post care is strictly followed.
Some skin conditions could change the healing process and results.
So now we ask- Is it right for me?
-
Chronic or Acute inflammation in the skin such as Eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis, and keratosis pilaris can mean the the skin has an active inflammation process and is not in a state of homeostasis. This can mean that the healing could take longer or possible that it can not hold the pigment very well. While having any of the above conditions doesn’t necessarily exclude a client, it should be mentioned during the scheduling and consultation process so that the appropriate recommendations can be considered.
Oily skin can mean that the pigment will not hold very well, hairstrokes will be more likely to blur, or fade faster over time. Oily skin types are better suited for powder brows and do better with a micro pigment application.
Special consideration will be taken for those with thin skin, thick skin, large pores, fair skin, sensitive skin, or for those with previous permanent makeup.
-
Any raised skin or tissue in the area to be pigmented will not retain color well.
Trichotillomania is a disorder that is known for an urge to pull out eyebrow hair. This can cause an increased amount of scar tissue and damage tot the skin which can mean a longer healing process and poor retained pigment.
Certain autoimmune disorders such as Lupus would mean that a client would not be a good candidate for microblading.
If you are pregnant or nursing, any permanent makeup procedure will need to be postponed.
Hemophilia is a heart condition that puts a client in high risk of bleeding and any permanent makeup procedures will not be performed.
A client on their Menstrual cycle is more sensitive to pain and will have a higher chance of bleeding if you smoke.
